The Seymchan meteorite was found in a brook-bed flowing into the Hekandue River, in the Magadan district of Russia in 1967, with 323.3kg of material recovered to date. Originally classified as a IIE iron, subsequent specimens of Seymchan were found to contain olivine crystal inclusions, and has since been reclassified as a Pallasite. A 2.2kg half stone was purchased at the Denver Show earlier this year, and was cut, polished and etched by Josh Eisler of Cosmic Cutlery to masterful perfection. These slices feature a high mirror polish on one side and a well defined etch on the other. These beautiful pallasites, which are like the crown jewels in the meteorite world, would make a splendid addition to any collection.
