NWA 6075 - A New Brecciated Lodranite

The Big Kahuna would like to introduce a new brecciated lodranite achondrite meteorite that was found in the deserts of North West Africa in 2008, and purchased in 2009. I originally purchased a 29g fragment that exhibited a strange iridescent euhedral crystal on its surface, which I queried the members on the meteorite-list. At the same time, I purchased the 168g main mass (top left) that was recovered in addition to the 29g fragment (bottom left). As a favor, Dr Jeff Taylor of the University of Hawaii Manoa - Hawaii Institute for Geophysics and Planetology (HIGP) took a look at the 29g fragment and did some preliminary work on it, as did Dr Ken Hon of University of Hawaii at Hilo Geology. Ultimately, I had the study for classification done by Dr Tony Irving of University of Washington, who reports my stone is classified as
NWA 6075 Lodranite breccia (paired with NWA 4478).
Olivine Fa10.6 (FeO/MnO = 21.6)
Clinopyroxene Fs4.7Wo44.5 (FeO/MnO = 11.0)
Orthopyroxene Fs9.7Wo1.3 (FeO/MnO = 14.6)
This is a beautiful brecciated lodranite that I would like to offer the collection world at affordable prices. Most lodranites on the market are going to cost from between $50 - $1500/g, with about $100/g as an average. I kid you not, this stuff is rare and very expensive. But a good lodranite should not escape your minimum daily requirement of primitive achondrites. So Big Kahuna is making this newest lodranite, formally paired with NWA 4478, NWA 4875, NWA 5403 and NWA 5488, available to the collection market at a crazy price of $45/g. This beautiful meteorite comes in a quality labeled display case (55 x 35mm), and a Big Kahuna Meteorites Certificate of Authenticity.
